Ethan?
Apparently, the fire that's been blazing just down the street from us has a name, and it is Ethan? It's on the Gila River Indian Reservation. There have been conflicting reports about the scope of the thing and how much they have it under control. There've been some evacuations, but so far, it seems not to have done any harm to any people or property.
It's just alarming to us because, being from Maryland, we don't know what to expect from a wildfire. Is it ok that, four days in, the thing is still billowing black smoke that can be seen in Scottsdale and "snowing" ash? Somebody's on that, right?

The Drive-In
Just saw "Get Smart" at The Glendale 9 Drive-In. It was cheap. The kids could run around. And best of all, the snack concessions included Jamaica (hibiscus) tea AND bubble gum ice cream. Really, what more could anyone ask?
