Astrodon Johnstoni

I was part of a movement of "dinosaur moms" when I lived in Maryland (Astrodon Johnstoni is the Maryland state dinosaur.) Which is nothing more than this -- dinosaur moms delight in the half-feral nature of the beasties they parent, even as they whisper Shakespeare and Kierkegaard in their ears at night.

Righteous Mom # 2 -- Chicha

Another in the "Don't mess with a brooding mother" strain. She is Pacha's constant, affectionate, compulsive wife, mother of his two kids, keeper of his idyllic moutain home. But even with number three on the way, she manages to give the usurping empress what for. You go girl!

Definitely a perfect choice for your list! I love the scene when Pacha is warned that the bad guys are going after his wife and kids. Pacha just laughs it off and says something like, "oh... they can take care of themeselves." Then Chicha and the kids beat the snot out of the bad guys and launch them out of the house in various ninja-like ways. The whole time Chicha is calmly conducting the orchestration. Yes, a perfect choice.

Love your posts, lady... always some good thoughtful stuff to savor. More than anything I appreciate your honesty and willingness to say it like it is. So refreshing. Keep it up!
